Friday Photo

I haven’t taken too many photos this week, aside from ones with the phone. I did, however, download a new app for my phone that changes existing photos. Called “Tinyplanet” it takes a photo and wraps it around in a circle to make a, you guessed it, planet. I took a photo of the Pacific Grace that I took at sunset on Moorea, French Polynesia, and tinyplanet-ized it. The result is kind of fun!

In November, when Jen and I travelled to San Francisco for a week, we made a point of finding out about some of the unique boutiques and cafes there that we wanted to visit. Inevitably wandering streets of shops looking for the one you came to fine will lead to other exciting discoveries. Down in the Mission District was just one of those “goldmine” areas. We found a little stationary/art shop that was selling, amongst other things, the papercut art of Nikki McClure from Washington state. I came home with her 2011 calendar and now I get to look at these beautiful images every month.

Homage to coffee. Its a wonderful thing.

(Points to anyone who can guess which Victoria coffee shops those are at – I’ll buy you a coffee! Hints: They are all downtown, with the exception of the top right (which was at my friend’s parent’s cabin, so that is a freebie) and the middle left, which was in Cadboro Bay… Guess away!)
